John Miliauskas Drill Designer

John Miliauskas just completed a 20 year career as Director of Athletic Bands at Towson University (Towson, MD) where he directed the Marching Band, Pep Band, and Concert Band. Previously, he spent fourteen years as a middle school band director in the West Shore School District (Lewisberry, PA). Growing up with a band director as his father (Lake-Lehman H.S., PA), John has spent his whole life immersed in instrumental music and the marching activity.

John has over 35 years of experience designing drills for countless successful high school marching bands, drum and bugle corps, and indoor ensembles of all sizes. These drills have varied from basic to advanced level programs for both competitive and noncompetitive bands. Some notable programs for which John has written drills include the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps (Philadelphia, PA), the Reading Buccaneers Drum and Bugle Corps (Reading, PA), 3-time TOB Champion Red Land High School (Lewisberry, PA), and 4-time TOB Champion Lake-Lehman High School (Lehman, PA). Additionally, John has written five drills that were performed in Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades on NBC.

John has a Masters of Music in Music Education from West Chester University (West Chester, PA) and is an active designer, adjudicator, consultant, and clinician. He resides in Glen Rock, PA with his wife, Sarah, and daughters Ava and Ella.
